When you shot some video clips with your Sony camcorder, you always need to playback on your computer, either PC or Mac, or upload to your PC or Mac for editing. But most occasions you will find that you can’t directly upload the videos from your Sony camcorder to your computer directly although you have connected your camcorder with your computer.
Most types of Sony camcorders record videos in AVCHD format like Sony Cyber-shot DSC-HX5V, HX7V or HX9V, and some shoot video in MP4 format such as Sony Bloggie MHS-PM5, Sony Bloggie 3D which are not supported by PC or Mac directly.
For PC, it is suggested that the video files that you want to upload is AVI, WMV or MPG format, there formats are the commonly formats supported by Windows Movie Maker and Windows Media Player two of which can help you edit and convert your video files.
